The Refining Fire Fellowship Mission Statement

As a local body of believers, we exist primarily for one reason: to bring glory to God while hear on earth. To be Jesus Christ to the people of this world, as if Jesus had never left. This primary purpose is fulfilled in many different ways. Here are the main ones:

Boldly Proclaim the Truth to the Lost- This present time is the only time we have to proclaim the truths of God’s Word to the lost. When they die, when we die and/or when Christ returns, it will be too late. We proclaim the whole counsel of God: Hell, Judgment, Sin, Cross, Mercy, Eternity, etc. We do this many ways- internet, 1-2-1 conversations, gospel tract distribution, open air preaching, etc.

Edification of the Saints- This is done through the teaching of God’s Word, taking communion together, spending time together worshiping God in song, praying as a group, taking care of each other, engaging in evangelism together, etc.

Keeping God’s Commandments- Jesus commands you to sin no more (John 5:14, 8:11). Jesus commands you to repent or perish (Luke 13:3, 5). The whole point of the preaching of Christ, according to Paul, is that we “may present every man perfect in Christ” (Colossians 1:27-29). You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Phil. 4:13). If you walk according to the Spirit, you won’t fulfill the lusts of the flesh (Gal. 5:16). God doesn’t let you be tempted beyond what you are able to bear and always provides a way out of sinning (1 Cor. 10:13). God's commandments are not a burden to keep (1 John 5:3-4).

The Bible makes it clear that true Christians obey God. If you don’t obey God, you don’t love Him (John 14:15), aren’t cleansed of your sins (1 John 1:5-7), don’t know Him (1 John 2:3-4), are of the devil (1 John 3:8), don’t have the grace of God that brings salvation (Titus 2:11-14), are a slave to sin (John 8:34, Romans 6:16), your house is built upon the sand (Matthew 7:26-27), you have a dead faith (James 2:19-20) and you will not inherit the Kingdom of God (Matthew 7:21, 1 Cor. 6:9-10).

If you have been deceived by the lie that you can’t stop sinning or that you can’t completely obey God in this life, then you need to repent. The truth can set you free (John 8:31-36), so that you can walk in holiness and victory before God. God wants you to be Holy and provides all that you need to live Holy. The only thing left is for you to start living Holy today! Rejection of this teaching is rejection of God, not man (1 Thessalonians 4:3-8).

Intimate Fellowship with God- We strive to always have intimate times of personal/private prayer, read/study the Word of God, worship Him in song and do the work He has called us to. The former three purposes flow from this last one. This is the foundation of all we are- knowing God the Father and the One He has sent- John 17:3.
